David Sutton, Partner has a background in power and infrastructure project finance and worked for Barclays Bank PLC and GE Capital in a number of senior roles in Europe and Asia. He co-founded EFA in 2003 and advised on financings for some of the earliest utility scale wind energy projects in Europe including one of the first limited recourse financings for green certificate projects. He has worked closely with renewable energy developers in expanding their businesses globally and in 2009 relocated to Manila to focus on projects in Asia. David is a shareholder and director of renewable energy development entities in Asia and North Africa.

Mark Instance, Partner joined Clifford Chance in 1985 and worked as a lawyer specialising in large international structured finance transactions, such as acquisition financing and the first securitisation transactions in Europe and Australasia as well as debt capital markets. He joined Clifford Chance’s Madrid office in 1990 and opened and managed their Barcelona office in 1993 working on transactions that introduced techniques such as securitisation and project finance to Spain. In 1995 he moved to work in the Italian offices and developed a highly successful practice in Milan running the banking and structured finance group. Mark advised both banks and corporations on some of the largest acquisition financings and telecoms and energy project financings in Italy, including advising the IVPC wind farms from inception. He is qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales and an Avvocato in Italy. He has a Bachelors Degree (Honours) and a Masters Degree in Jurisprudence from Oxford University.

Steven Zwaan, Partner has a background in investment banking and private equity and is based in Asia since 2003.

He co-founded Liger Capital Management, a real estate asset management company in 2011. LCM established Philippines Urban Living Solutions (www.puls.ph), the leading owner, developer and manager of dormitory housing in the Philippines now part-owned by Franklin Templeton and SM Investments Corporation. Steven is a shareholder and Director of renewable energy development entities in Asia, Australia and North Africa.

Steven holds a Masters degree in Law from Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands.

Renan Batac started his career in accounting in the Philippines with Millennium Business Services Inc. (MBSI), handling clients such as Adidas, Johnson and Johnson and Pfizer. He moved to Singapore in 2011 as an accountant for Pasha and to Jakarta in 2013 with Harborstar Shipping Company Inc. Renan joined UPC Renewables Philippines in 2014 and started working with EFA in 2017. Renan has a Major in Marketing from the Institute of Science & Technology in Manila as well as a B.S. Accountancy from World Citi Colleges in Antipolo City, Philippines.
